About RDAP Lookups

This tool uses the Registration Data Access Protocol (RDAP), the modern successor to WHOIS, to check domain availability.

A domain is considered available if the RDAP server returns a 404 (not found) response. A domain is taken if the server returns registration data.

Some ccTLDs (country-code TLDs) may not have full RDAP support, which can result in errors or false positives. Results should be verified with the respective registrar.

Queries are sent to rdap.org, a public RDAP bootstrap service that routes requests to the correct RDAP server for each TLD.
